Lasara Firefox Allen, MSW (they/them), is a trans and genderqueer menopause expert, educator, doula, and coach whose book, Genderqueer Menopause (North Atlantic Books, 2026), became an Amazon bestseller and landed on the Independent Press Top 40 Nonfiction List within its first week. Their second menopause title, Menopause Reclaimed (Llewellyn), arrives in June 2027. Lasara is IAOTH-accredited in gender-affirming menopause education, with a practice grounded in inclusive, trauma-informed care for trans and gender-expansive people.
As Founder and CEO of Genderqueer Futures LLC, Lasara created the Gender-Affirming Menopause Care (GAMC) Provider Certification Course, where they train menopause care providers, from clinicians to coaches, worldwide. Their clinical writing includes “Gender-Affirming Menopause Care: Best Practices,” co-authored with Dr. Kristin Gianelis, DNP, for the Clinical Journal of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (2026). Across this work, Lasara centers gender-expansive embodiment, trauma-informed practice, and health equity for LGBTQIA+ communities.
